GILGAMESH AND ENKIDU

Compare how Gilgamesh and Enkidu traits are alike and different ? 

        In the story the characters Gilgamesh caused more chaos then good, and Enkidu was sent by the goddess Aruru to fight Gilgamesh. Both characters are very strong characters. For example in the text it states on tablet 1 “ Gilgamesh strongest of all!” And Enkidu it says also in tablet 1 “ The goddess Aruru... fashioned a wild man named Enkidu”. Although both characters are a little alike they are also different as well, for example in the text it states that Gilgamesh abused his power and strength for example in tablet 1 it states “ He ripped sons from their fathers and demanded virgins from their husbands on their wedding nights” another quote to show that Gilgamesh abused his power was also in tablet 1,”His tyranny and savagery grew. The women and old ones complained to the gods,”shouldn’t Gilgamesh be our shepherd, the protector of people?” This show how Gilgamesh abused his power and how Enkidu didn’t abuse his power.

Victoria Escamilla 3/8/19 English 9             High school students should read the American "classics" because, it helps students in this generation to  appreciate literature,and reading since current day literate isn't how it used to be unlike classic literature which shows how old literature used to be. For example on the second page of the article in the 3rd paragraph it states." In this age of declining literacy, a primary function of school should be first to ignite an appreciation for reading. Once students love to read, they will be more likely and able to give a work of literature from another time, place and culture a try". Another reason high school students should read the "classics" is because, it will help students to improve upon their reading skills, and there love for reading.
