HARRY POTTER AND THE HERO'S JOURNEY

           In the movie “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s stone”, there is a scene when Dumbledore shows up to the Dursley’s house, which is Harry’s adoptive family,  the reason Dumbledore shows up to there house is because of the many failed attempts of sending Harry letter saying he’s been accepted to, Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry, when Dumbledore goes to Harry’s house, he tells Harry he’s a wizard. This scene would be considered as Harry’s “call to adventure”, this is because this is the start of Harry’s journey into becoming a wizard, through Harry’s journey he’s going to go through many challenges, but this will prepare him for what’s to come further into his journey.

Victoria Escamilla 3/8/19 English 9             High school students should read the American "classics" because, it helps students in this generation to  appreciate literature,and reading since current day literate isn't how it used to be unlike classic literature which shows how old literature used to be. For example on the second page of the article in the 3rd paragraph it states." In this age of declining literacy, a primary function of school should be first to ignite an appreciation for reading. Once students love to read, they will be more likely and able to give a work of literature from another time, place and culture a try". Another reason high school students should read the "classics" is because, it will help students to improve upon their reading skills, and there love for reading.
